Fundraising Spotlight
Nugent Care’s Community Services Fund launches!
There’s not much you can buy for a pound these days.
But we at Nugent Care can do a lot with a little, things that make a real difference to everyday lives:
• purchasing specialist audio equipment for hard of hearing people at a cost of £45
• preparing a new volunteer to support a person with a learning disability at a cost of £45
• a 2 hour Lipreading session for a group of hard of hearing people at a cost of £50
• supporting parents caring for a disabled child at a cost of £100
Who needs your pound?
• people with learning disabilities
we work with children and adults with learning disabilities and carers. Promoting independence and supporting people in their own communities.
• people who are hard of hearing
4 in 10 people over 50 years of age have some form of hearing loss. We help by providing Lipreading groups, specialist equipment demonstrations and loans, basic computer, e-mail & internet training,
specialist advice and support. This enables hard of hearing people play a fuller part in family and community life.
• deaf people
nearly 700,000 people in the UK are deaf. We help with signed workshops, home visits, courses on British Sign Language & interpreting services - we even accompany people on important appointments.
• volunteers
we couldn’t do without them - our volunteers give approximately 48,000 hours of volunteer time to Nugent Care every year by offering friendship and support to vulnerable and isolated people.
Please help us to continue to care for those in need - invest in the future of our community teams by donating £1 a week
