
Located near to the Formby Point nature reserve in Freshfield, Merseyside and within easy access to road and rail networks, Clumber Care provides high quality residential care for children and young people.
The service operates across two sites - Clumber Lodge and two adjoined semi-detached houses in Brewery Lane. Both sites have extensive gardens with large play areas and play equipment. The service is provided in small living units.
Brewery Lane caters for young children with learning disabilities, who want to enjoy a smaller, quieter living environment on a long term basis.
Within Clumber Lodge, Oakwood accommodates younger aged children, who have experienced physical, emotional and sexual abuse. These children are provided with stability and therapeutic input whether the plan is for them to return home, or move to an alternative placement. Preparation work is undertaken if fostering or adoption is envisaged.
Beechwood Unit provides care, guidance and support for adolescents and individualised work to prepare them for living independently.
Pinewood is a facility for young mothers (under the age of 18 years) and their babies. Full assessments of parenting skills can be undertaken and reports prepared for court proceedings. Young women are accommodated and supported during their pregnancy and following the baby’s birth. Clumber Lodge also offers training in life skills, baby craft, safety issues and our staff work closely with mothers to support and encourage the development of their own parenting skills.
Our experienced staff team provides twenty-four hour care and advice on a one to one basis in high quality accommodation, with full access to support resources such as counselling and out reach support for the children. staff are committed to continue professional development by undertaking further training and gaining additional qualifications.
Former service users continue to visit Clumber Care and keep in touch. As adults, they find it a wonderful experience to return to Clumber Care and see where they lived and were cared for during their childhood years. Teenagers, adults and families travel great distances to see and discuss their roots, a huge testament to the care offered at Clumber.
