Set in the same grounds as Lime House, The Bungalow offers a unique and high quality service for three adults with physical and learning disabilities. The home offers specialised, twenty four hour around the clock care with eleven highly trained and friendly staff working on a four week rota basis.
The Bungalow follows a person centred approach to caring for its residents and also follows a successful key worker system. Two of its residents have lived at The Bungalow for sixteen years whilst the other has lived there for the past ten years.
There are no set meal times at the Bungalow and flexibility to the person’s needs and wishes is paramount. The residents and their families are consulted over their menu options, with a wide choice being made available.
At The Bungalow its main focus is to create a comfortable, homely environment for its residents. Bedrooms are personalised to meet their individual needs and requirements and the open culture of the home allows the residents to mix together or to enjoy their own individual space. Service users also have access and integration into the local community and its facilities. They have their own mini bus for outings and decide themselves where they would like to go.
Extensive refurbishments have taken place over the last couple of years, with a new kitchen, bathroom and patio now put in place. The patio area will be particularly useful in summer months as it will allow residents the chance to get outside and enjoy their surroundings.
A thorough complaints system is in place for the residents and is consistently kept up to date with information accessible to meet the resident’s needs and abilities. Family and friends are encouraged to visit at any time and their opinions and feedback are always welcomed and appreciated.
