What We Offer

Nugent Care Adoption Service is a registered and approved voluntary adoption agency and offers:

• A professional team of senior practitioners, highly qualified and experienced in all areas of adoption
• A named senior practitioner who will be responsible for your application from start to finish
• An open and fair application process which welcomes people from diverse backgrounds and with different life experiences
• Committed social workers who are sensible, realistic and non-judgemental and who will listen to, and respect, any concerns or worries you may have.
• Information we obtain in connection with your application will be dealt within the strictest confidence and stored securely in an individual case file
• A support system for you and your family which aims to provide what you need when you need it
• A post adoption service for you and your family if, and when, you need it.  We understand there will be good times and bad times ahead and we will be there for you whenever you may need us
• The opportunity for your child to keep in touch with other families who have adopted, through twice yearly social events
• A regular newsletter to keep you in touch with Nugent Care
• The specialist services of an accredited Intercountry Adoption Agency.

Domestic Adoption

Nugent Care welcomes enquiries from all sections of the community. We aim to highlight your strengths and our prime concern is that you can meet the individual needs of the child to be placed with you.
Potential adopters have to be at least 21 years of age. Certain criminal convictions, cautions or bind overs could prevent an individual from being considered.

Inter Country Adoption

Inter-country adoption is a different process from domestic adoption with its own set of practices and requirements.
Some of the procedures are similar to domestic adoption, such as the home study, but adopters also have to comply with the laws in their child’s country of origin.

Voluntary adoption agencies, like Nugent Care, can apply a fee for the completion of home study assessments for purpose of inter-country adoption.
